Difficulties we Faced on shoot Day 1

The first location we choose consists of many cars in the background, as it was not suitable for us  to show number plate of the cars in the  parking lot so we had to find another less surrounding exposing spot.

The second challenge that we faced was that we left our Aluminum knife originally made for this purpose. We had to roam in whole mall for buying 1 original looking knife but couldn't find one. Aiman however made an extra knife before, that  was not perfect but in the end we were left to shoot with it. As something was better than nothing. Our homme was 40 min  drive away from the mall's parking so coming home to bring back knife was absolutely useless and waste of time as we had time specified with mall authorities for shooting.

Shooting in public would be difficult our teacher warned us about it before. But we experienced it on the day of shooting, when people there who were parking there cars kept looking into the camera. It was difficult for us to maintain the very similitude as the car's lights, horns and even screeches  made it very difficult for us to maintain the tempo.

Even though we had our ring lights for lightning but we had no control over mall's tube lights to create a heavily cinematic lights. So we tried to find switches for  one of the tube light in stairs scene and turned it off but as the following shot was there. So it looked very dark and dumb kind of shot with just ring light. So We decided to lighten the light's flicker in editing. Even the shoot of blood splashes was difficult as the shadow of my hand splashing the blood was so obvious.

This is the picture of fake blood on my hand that I used to splash of the car:

The last and greatest challenge for us to overcome was coping up with the pressure of increase in the number of  people in basement while shooting as the evening time approached together with the perfectionism in shooting that I wanted as a director. Our last scene was the one consisting blood splashes on the car. And in my opinion it was the most difficult one to shoot as people surrounding us we getting suspicious of our activities and Mall authorities were the one telling them the reality. Even though the blood that we were using was fake but it was enough for people to place judgmental eye upon us. However this increased the pressure to work good in all circumstances for us.
