Synopsis

 Who Am I

Devan, a patient of split personality disorder, is sitting on a park bench, under a tree, holding a diary in his hands. The page has “Devan, kill her, I order you, she doesn’t deserve your love” written in sloppy, messy handwriting. He reaches for a picture with shaky hands, and examines it. The picture is of a jolly-looking girl. He appears clearly stressed; his eyes are red, he’s sweating profusely, sighs, and rubs the side and nape of his neck. He tries to stand hesitantly, staggers forward, but then he manages to walk properly at last.

The scene shifts to the girl (from the picture). She is sitting on the bed, talking to someone on call. She seems nervous, and confused. “he’s so confusing, and I just can’t understand him. It’s like, each time I meet him, he’s a completely different person. One moment, he would act a certain way, and then next thing I know, he’s a completely different person.” While she’s saying that, the lights suddenly go out. She goes to check it while muttering complaints.

It is nighttime; dark. There is a man entering the house. He’s holding a knife. He tilts his neck abruptly. The girl hears his footsteps and tries to bravely ask “who’s there?” but her voice is shakier than she expected. The man enters the room, and the woman screams; widening her eyes in terror.

The same man is sitting alone, on a chair and desk, in a darkened room. He is writing with his hands stained with blood. “I’m so happy you killed her, I’m so proud of you.” He says to himself. He tilts his neck snappily, touches his neck, as his personality changes again. He looks down at his blood-stained hands and realizes what his other personality has done. He starts shivering and shaking, and stutters out “No… No… I could not have done this… what have I done? Who am I?”
