Few Film Opening Projects- Review

 I watched several AS level film openings on You Tube made by students like us, here is one of the examples I would like to share my opinion over them;

1. FILM 1

The start of the movie is by glamorous closeups of the girl, the sound behind and the colorful effects add by editing perfectly matches the starting theme. The voiceover behind gives an "I don't care impression" showcasing the girl showed is rebellious ,not the one following societal rule, that I liked about. The title emerged in a rather fancy way, form of visible editing, setting a rather plain fashion related expectation from the viewer.

The next scene with her mother was particularly simple but portraying the careless attitude of Inaya's (Leading characters) parents, conventional representation in rich families(also stereotypical).

 Then the aerial shot of city set the settings clearly transitioning into party's scene. The aesthetics of party scene consist of multiple transitions and the ambievent sound creates cinematic affect .The motivated lightning is creating the misenscene. The suspense sound in transition from one scene to another is creating enigma codes. 

Slowly the villain is introduced and the girl is shown being kidnapped. The kidnapper is shown as a man, typical representation of male gender. And girl role to be a damsel in distress. Then there is a dip to black linking car going in desolate land. The closeup of girls phone and Mom's call along with the LIPSTICK( it is symbolized and gives  the morale of the story) aesthetically ends it.

It was generally a very good film opening I'm quite impressed by the transitions and will try to achieve the goal of good transitions and editing in my project.
